In Apartment VP 12 we did a major conceptual renovation of the otherwise long and narrow living room. The apartment is located on the first floor and there was not enough light in the depth of the room. We removed the partition wall, which formed a narrow and dark corridor and made the kitchen with the dining area even narrower. In this way, we invited light into the depth of the room. We optically expanded the space and created the possibility of having a large kitchen unit.
All the functionalities of the corridor – shoe cabinets, space for clothes are created by the wardrobes that crawl along the walls from floor to ceiling and give the appearance of paneling. In order to escape the feeling of separate furniture and create one for the wall, the wardrobe doors have a finish of fine beams, washable and durable wallpaper and ecru panels with a combination of smooth and structured surfaces.
Throughout the apartment, the door handles, in addition to being convenient, also serve to optically increase the height – they are the black fine lines from floor to ceiling.
Our clients are a family that is much taller than average, so all the heights of the countertops, bedroom, bathroom sinks, bar, dining table, chairs are planned higher. All the furniture is tailored to the agronomy of the users and their needs.
It took us seven months to complete the project of three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a closet/wet room, and a common living room with kitchen and dining room, until we saw the photos.
